Configuring the Operating Environment for the Tool
This section describes how to use the Environment Settings screen to configure the operating and communicating environments for the tool.
Configuring the Operating Environment
On the [File] menu, click [Environment Settings].
The Environment Settings screen appears.

This screen also appears when this tool is launched for the first time.
If you are using a proxy server, fill in field for "Proxy Settings".
Check [Use proxy server on LAN].
Enter the IP address of the proxy server in "Address" and the port used to access the proxy server in "Port".
The maximum number of characters that can be entered in each of "Address" and "Port" is 128 single-byte characters.
Click [Authentication Settings].
Enter a user name used to access the proxy server in "User Name:", and then enter a password twice in "Password:" and "Confirm Password:".
The maximum number of characters that can be entered in each of "Password:" and "Confirm Password:" is 128 single-byte characters.
Click [OK].
From "Area" in "Download Server Select", select the region from where you are using this tool.
Click [Execute...] under "Server Connection Test:" to verify that the connection is successful.
Click [OK].
Configuring the Communicating Environment
Click the [SNMP Settings] tab.

When using SNMPv1 or SNMPv2 to communicate to a device
Check "SNMPv1,v2".
Enter a Read community name.
When using SNMPv3 to communicate to a device
Check "SNMPv3".
Enter a user name, password, authentication algorithm, context name, encryption password, and encryption algorithm.
Click [OK].
