Updating a Non-internet-connected Device

To perform firmware/application update on a device on a non-internet-connected network, follow the steps below.

1Save information from the non-internet-connected device to a computer on the same network as the device.

2Save a firmware/application update file in an internet-connected computer.

See Saving a Firmware/Application Update File.

3Perform firmware/application update on the non-internet-connected device.

See Uploading a Firmware/Application Update File to a Device.

Saving a Device Information File

1Start this tool on a computer communicating with a device where firmware/application update is to be performed.

2Add one or more devices where firmware/application update is to be performed to the listing area.

3On the [File] menu, click [Save Data for migration].

A dialog box for selecting a folder appears.

4Select a folder where device information is to be saved, and then click [Select Folder].

Device information is now saved in the selected folder.

Saving a Firmware/Application Update File

1Copy the folder where the file is saved as instructed in Saving a Device Information File to an internet-connected computer.

2Launch this tool on the internet-connected computer.

3On the [File] menu, click [Import Data for migration].

A dialog box for selecting a folder appears.

4Select the folder copied on Step 1.

One or more targeted devices is/are added to the listing area.

5In the listing area, add one or more devices where firmware/application update is to be performed.

6On the [Device Operation] menu, click [Update Firmware/App...].

7Click [Administrator Settings].

8Select "Only download the server (Save the data in the save folder)", and then click [OK].

9Click [Execute Immediately].

The firmware/application update file is now downloaded.

10On the [File] menu, click [Save Data for migration].

A dialog box for selecting a folder appears.

11Select a folder where a device information file or firmware/application update file is to be saved, and then click [Select Folder].

The device information or firmware/application update file is now saved in the selected folder.

Uploading a Firmware/Application Update File to a Device

1Copy the folder where the file is saved as instructed in Saving a Firmware/Application Update File to a computer communicating with a device where firmware/application update is to be performed.

2Start this tool on a computer communicating with a device where firmware/application update is to be performed.

3On the [File] menu, click [Import Data for migration].

A dialog box for selecting a folder appears.

4Select the folder copied on Step 1.

5In the listing area, add one or more devices where firmware/application update is to be performed.

6On the [Device Operation] menu, click [Update Firmware/App...].

7Click [Administrator Settings].

8Select "Upload to the device using the file in the save folder.", and then click [OK].

9Click [Execute Immediately].

The device is now updated to its up-to-date firmware/application.
